Our best furniture relocation experience ever...

I dread moving furniture and household whitegoods. Every time I've used the two men and a truck type of removalists, I have had difficulties with their timeliness, attention to detail and care of my furniture and whitegoods.

At other times I have moved everything myself with the help of a few mates.  That creates its own difficulties and tensions, including the inevitable frustrations, mix-ups and sore bodies not used to the challenge.

My partner and I recently moved in together.  To furnish our home, we purchased a range of furniture and household whitegoods items from a family who was relocating to Melbourne.

We engaged Better Home Removals to move all these items to our new home.

The day of the move was Saturday 24th January, 2009, the Australia Day long weekend. As anyone who was in Sydney that day will probalby recall, it was over 40 degrees.

Bradley from Better Home Removals, and his two assistants were fantastic from the moment we first spoke with them in the morning to their moment of departure from our home.

Its now several weeks later and I am still inspired by the way they approached the job. 

Under the most trying of circumstances, Bradley and his team moved large and heavy washing machine and refridgerator, absolutely massive dining table, a large solid timber buffet, king sized metal framed bed, bed-side tables, 12 large timber and leather dining chairs and a huge timber, leather, fabric cushioned three piece lounge suite and two book cabinets, all had to be taken out of a sloping site with steps.

Most impressively for us, they accommodated and managed an unexpected increased scope of the job, as we ended up buying a lot of additional furniture on site that we were not expecting to be purchasing.

This required them to re-arrange their load in the truck not once, but three times and it would have been over 50 centigrade inside that truck. 

Bradley was simply superb in the way he took this on board, quickly setting aside any initial annoyance to get on with the job. 

If everyone in the world had that kind of character and integrity, we would live in a world of miracles.

My positive experience with Better Homes Removals did not begin or end on the day either.

It began and ends with Julie, who was attentive and clear in managing our booking on the phone and went out of her way to accommodate our day and time requirement.

She later provided a clear Tax Invoice and cost break-down of the job and followed up professionally (when I did not) to process our payment for the job.

There may be a better home removalist company on the planet than Better Home Removals, but if there is, I have not heard about them.

To Julie, Bradley and the team at Better Home Removals, you are super-stars and I will gladly recommend you without hesitation to all of my friends and family at any time they need moving assistance in Sydney.

Just a quick note to say that we are all settled into our new home thanks to the wonderful help from your team. Being in the property industry I deal with contractors and tradesmen all day and I can honestly say that I have never seen anyone work as smart as your team do. They made it look so easy! Their cool and calm approach set the mood and made what would otherwise have been a very stressful morning a simple task.

Also I have got to tell you - it was nice to see all my couch pillows etc being carried together safely in a plastic bag and not been carried clumsily and then thrown into the back of the truck like footballs!

Please let the team know that it was a pleasure having dealt with them.

Just a brief email to thank you for the amazing job your company did with our move last Friday. From the moment your team arrived we were impressed with their good nature, introducing themselves and getting right to work after a quick evaluation. The truck was almost new looking and large enough to cope with the extra furniture we stacked in the garage thankfully.

All three guys were careful and willing to help with anything needing disassembling and reassembling at the other end. All couches were packed in new plastic sheeting and padding where required, so absolutely nothing was damaged.

Thanks for the follow up call to make sure everything went well, and as I said we'll be telling our friends.

Dear Jack & Julie,

Firstly congratulations to you both on having an AWESOME team on board.

From the very first phone call with Emma, she was not only efficient and polite but knowledgeable about the area and the "logistical challenges" that Musgrave St, Mosman presents.

The four man team of Glen, Freddie, Tom and Aaron arrived on time at precisely 7:00 am and proceeded to get underway immediately.   To say they worked like Trojans is an understatement.  Due to the street access and steep curved driveway getting a truck down is impossible.   This meant loading up twice, first onto a ferry ute, then into the truck.     Even during the off-loading, nothing was too much trouble.   Glen's attention to detail noticed that one of our  5 CD / DVD towers had been placed upside down....he was onto it without a moments hesitation turning it the right way up.

Professional and prompt service continued four days later, when we noticed one of the TV cabinet shelves missing.   We rang the office, two hours later we received a phone call back confirming the item had been located and would be dropped off... if not that afternoon (Saturday), definitely on Monday.    By the time we returned from the shops, the glass shelf had been delivered and prompt up against the front door!

We have no hesitation in recommending BHR to friends & family looking for a professional, non invasive, and well coordinated team of removalists. If there were Removalists Awards ....you'd have our vote.
